![]() The main character's name was shown to be Garoo, although it is unknown if that name is a placeholder or his real name. ![]() The scenario writing is being handled by Tadashi Satomi. they won't green light it if they know that its bad.The final stretch goal for the kickstarter campaign, called "A Quiet Place", was announced to be a companion game.Īt E3 in June 2021, the name of the game was announced to be Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, with a release date in 2022.Īt the Xbox panel at the Tokyo Game Show on September 30, 2021, some game play footage was shown. My take it would be good, from my experience with eiyuden chronicle (world building and stuff) that is, even if its from another studio, the main ones would overlook it's development and QC some stuff. Well we'll see how it turns out next year anyways (if there isn't any delays). and yea they'll stick to the 6 character group with a lot of combination.Īnd for clarification the great war is a mini game where you need to beat the other kingdom to progress the story, that is for Suikoden 1 and 2 from what I remember I forgot about 3,4 or 5. and yea most JRPGs stick to the golden number of 4, because it is easier to control them all and having only 4 would give them more quality in an overall sense.īut knowing that ex-suikoden dev is on the helm I'll bet there's a lot of quality in their character, although not all of them. Every Suikoden game added something different to the combat though, so it could be a mixed bag of things in this game.ĭisgaea series and Final Fantasy Tactics series would be your choice then, (tho i forgot there's a limited amount of characters you could field). ![]() Suikoden 2 was my first Suikoden game and I always found Rune magic and Unite attacks be the best part of the combat for me. If it's anything like the Rune magic in the Suikoden franchise, there is going to be a lot of different spells and that's the fun part. Not sure how they'll go about it in this game, but it's probably the most tactical part of the game. The army versus army portions are where the strategy comes in mostly. I'm sure there will be group-based attacks as well between characters. The combat system isn't too complex, you've got your magic and regular attacks with a bit of party formation to worry about. Suikoden always had this nice turn-based six-party system going on. sadly, most modern rpgs have reduced party size and battle scale in favor of meticulous character design and complex combat system. when i had 12 vs 20 something battle years ago, i got the chills and loved the game more. big scale combats always have been my dream in rpg. cause they do like making them, up to the very last story arc. ![]() and some of them are gonna be available on the great war kind of gameplay (if they do add that into the game tho, albeit they are gonna be updated and not the same as its predecessor).Īnd yea my bet they'll have skippable characters. there are specific characters that fill in on the role of shopkeepers and some activities you do in your HQ (whether it's a castle or a ship idk). Originally posted by Clerericus:If it sticks to the core gameplay of its spiritual predecessor (Suikoden) then it's a 6 Character team-based JRPG.ġ00 characters (or maybe more idk) will be available for recruitment, but some of them are not useable in actual combat.
